I totally agree with your assessment of the current and future of America. The 2nd option which you describe is exactly what the US is trying to do now which will end up far worse than going through the two world wars in my opinion. Obama has failed to bring changes to the current financial system, which is a disappointment to many. One thing we can learn from politicians is never trust what they promise you……

Do the unemployment numbers include self employed individuals or contract workers who are looking for w2 jobs?

I agree with your assessment. I read an interesting article that claimed we are not in a liquidity crisis but one of solvency. So while the FED is working relentlessly to solve the former, nothing is being done for the latter. And now if the FASB is to be further compromised – which it will – there will be nobody addressing the problem of solvency, especially on the balance sheets of big banks. I’m curious, though, at what point do we see this problem reflected in market valuations? I can’t see why we are hovering around DOW 10,000 right now when nothing has substantially changed. What sort of economic data reveal our head-long rush into oblivion? Is it in unemployment? GDP? What are your projections for the NEXT 12-18 months? Great site. I especially liked the documentary. Thanks.

Always see the good side my friends, see the productivity number was increased. Less labour bring up increase in productivity number. Do really USA manufacturing anything? I am lucky that I am not become a slave if I still work in the current world best productivity number. See again an umployment has some bright side again. Where is everyones power of positive thinking? C’mon believes in the goverment which can recover the economy without jobs. It is magic or divine intervention, why you lack of faith? Or perhaps job creation is not my responsibility, next goverment will create jobs. Hua, what a politic world.
